HIV/AIDS Campaign as Health Knowledge for Preventing the Disease

HIV/AIDS is one of the kinds of sexual transmitted disease which has killed many people. The number of the killed people has killed 19 million people and 34 million people carry HIV and many of them do not know that they are infected. The fact number is very shivery. Then, the disease mostly happens in poor and developing countries. It can happen because the health system has not been good. The awareness and the budget for health care are not high enough. People in those kinds of countries are struggle in getting proper food for living.

The terrified victim by HIV/AIDS has made the United Nations put some kind of effort to help. The organization has program for the young people in trying to prevent the disease infects. United Nations prefers to target the campaign for young people before they are too late to know. Then, young people become the object of the campaign because of their outrageous behavior. Drugs and free sex can be the trigger of HIV/AIDS.

Besides the behavior, the reason for United Nations makes young people as target is their knowledge. They still know little about life and also about STD. Giving and involving young people in spread the campaign of the danger of HIV/AIDS will give them a chance to aware more. Awareness about HIV/AIDS will help them to prevent the virus spreading.

Sex and drugs become trigger of HIV/AIDS which should be avoid. Even though they are many chances a person to be infected. But, sex and drugs becomes the most common. In sexual issue, they are suggested to have safe sex and to be a monogamous person. It will help the virus not spread or not infected. Using condom can be one of the way to prevent the virus spreads. Then, they also are suggested to stay away from drugs. In the use of needles which shared in consuming can be the media the virus spreads.

Besides that, HIV/AIDS can be transmitted through blood transfusion. Giving and receiving blood transfusion should be careful. Some people may not know whether they are infected or not. Then, testing the blood sometimes should be done by people who have ever had free sex and used drugs.

The campaign of the preventing HIV/AIDS is done in many countries. It has been used one of the young people’s favorite TV channel. United Nations has collaboration with MTV Worldwide. That TV channel has young people are the viewers so it will be an effective campaign. Then, the campaign also is not presented in too formal form which make them do not like it.
